Seeds of Change®, maker of organically grown seeds and nutritious organic foods, has
opened the grant application period for their Share the Good grant
program. The application period is open from April 8 until April 22.
Organizations that inspire nutrition, gardening and farming programs
could receive a $25,000 grant or one of 15 $10,000 grants to support
efforts to enhance the environmental, economic and social well-being of
gardens, farms, farmers and communities.
Community-based schools, nutrition-focused programs, gardens and farm-related organizations are encouraged to apply for a grant to support and expand their sustainable growing initiatives.
Applicants are asked to describe how their organization or project shares the good in its community through sustainable gardening and farming, and how the project or activity makes its community more sustainable.
Applications will then be made available for voting by anyone who visits the Seeds of Change Facebook page from April 22 to May 17, 2013. The top 50 organizations or programs that receive the most votes will move onto the final judging phase. The grant recipients will be selected by a panel of judges that includes Seeds of Change farmers, who will evaluate each proposal's impact and relevance to the Share the Good initiative. Winners will be announced on or around June 4, 2013.
