Ten thousand individuals are turning 65 each day. This "Age Wave" isn't news. What's news are the challenging economic times so many older Americans now face.

Across the country, 1 in 3 older adults lives with economic uncertainty - some 23 million. Given this reality, we need to ask: are our community-based organizations prepared to help those we serve when it comes to complex financial problems, threats of foreclosure or eviction, high debt, and money management? That's the question we'll cover in this webinar.

Presenter: Ms. Ramsey Alwin. Ramsey, Director or the Economic Security Initiative at the National Council on Aging. She is responsible for launching and leading a national, multi-site direct service demonstration that focuses on putting vulnerable and disadvantaged older adults on a pathway to economic security.

Participating in this webinar will give you:
•    A snapshot of economic trends as they impact older adults - what are the implications of the current economic downturn on the older adults we serve
•    A model for building community-based capacity to help on these issues - how do we mobilize the aging services network to address issues of economic security for older adults
•    Tools and technology available to the aging services network as it addresses these challenges.

Webinars in this series are free to IlluminAge clients and friends. Attendance is first come, first served. Register now.
