Build-A-Bear Foundation literacy & education grants
The Build-A-Bear Foundation is accepting literacy and education grant requests until October, 2011.
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. These grants provide direct support for children in literacy and education programs such as summer reading programs, early childhood education programs, and literacy programs for children with special needs.
The guidelines are in pdf online. Grants come in the form of a one-time contribution and range from $1,000 to $10,000, averaging $1,500. Grant requests should be in line with an organization’s overall budget.
Grant Types Funded:
o Individual Project grants, generally for one-time purchases or to fulfill a short-term
need, such as the purchase of materials or books.
o Organization Program grants, which fund start-up or operational costs for ongoing programs,
such as a summer reading program.
Grant requests will be accepted from March until October 28, 2011.
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis throughout the year; it takes approximately 4-6 months for a grant to be reviewed and processed.
