Community Transformation Grant Program
Community Transformation Grant Program
Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, this effort pledges $70 million to improve the health of small communities across the nation. The program targets intervention populations of up to 500,000 in neighborhoods, school districts, and towns in order to increase opportunities for people to make healthful choices. Applicants must demonstrate how they can improve the health of their communities through increasing the availability of healthy foods and beverages, improving access to safe places for physical activity, reducing tobacco use, and encouraging smoke-free environments.
Fifty awards of varying amounts are available to select applicants.
The deadline is, most realistically, not going to work if you’re just hearing about this for the first time. But there’s always next year, right?
Deadline: July 31, 2012
