TD Green Streets: $20K for community trees & forestry



The Arbor Day Foundation and TD Bank announce TD Green Streets, a grant program supporting innovative practices in community forestry. Certain municipalities are eligible to receive one of ten $20,000 grants in support of local forestry projects in low- to moderate-income (LMI) neighborhoods.

To be eligible for a TD Green Streets grant, municipalities must be current Arbor Day Foundation Tree City USA®-recognized communities within TD Bank’s footprint. In Connecticut, those communities are: Bridgeport, Danbury, East Hartford, Hartford, Middletown, New Haven, Norwalk, Stamford, West Hartford, and West Haven

Up to 50 percent of the proposed funding can be used to purchase new trees.
Deadline = January 31, 2013.

Evaluation Process: TD Green Streets grant applications will be reviewed by representatives from Arbor Day Foundation and TD and evaluated on weighted criteria that include Innovation (25%), Partnership/Community Involvement (40%), Technical Training/Education (15%) Maintenance (15%), and Evaluation (5%).
