Funding for heart attack awareness among Latinas age 55+

Building public awareness through outreach is the goal of this effort, which encourages Spanish speaking Latinas from across the country over age 50 to recognize the signs and symptoms of a heart attack and to call 9-1-1 promptly.

Funding is available for activities and events supporting the Spanish language awareness campaign, “Make The Call. Don’t Miss a Beat.” One $10,000 award will be made per DHHS region; Connecticut is in Region 1 with the other New England states plus New York.

The deadline is November 1, 2012. For more information, see this pdf.
